Goyetche, Mary Eleanor – Louisdale/St. Peter’s
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Eleanor (Pitchoune) Goyetche, 85, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister on Saturday, December 17, 2016 with her loving family by her side at the Richmond Villa in St. Peter’s. Born October 2, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Mary Barb (Marchand) Burns. Eleanor was a lifelong member of St. Louis Parish in Louisdale and a member of St. Louis CWL for over 50 years. She was a former Medical Receptionist for the local Physicians. She loved going to bingo and playing cards. Eleanor was an avid fan of the Louisdale Baracos Baseball team, always attending games accompanied by her famous “cowbell”. She is survived by her son Wayne (Marie) daughter Jean Marie (Paul) and son John (Lori); grandchildren whom she adored, Janelle (Christian), Justin, Jonathan, Scott (Cheryl), Nelson, Joscelyn, Caleigh and Carter; great granddaughters; Callie and Sadie; sister, Irene and brothers Arthur and Joe. Eleanor was predeceased by her husband of 58 years Charles; sisters, May, Celina, Delta, Verona; brothers, Willie and Norman. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 21st from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9pm in the Glenn Sampson Memorial Room in Louisdale. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday morning at 11 am at St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisdale with Father Callistus Abazie, officiating. Burial to follow in St. Louis Parish Cemetery, Louisdale. A reception will be held following the committal in St. Louis Parish Hall in Louisdale. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, Richmond Villa Activity Fund and St. Louis Parish Renovations. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. J. A. Collins, nurses and staff at the Richmond Villa in St. Peter’s especially Memory Lane and Beachside for their care, love and compassion that they gave to Eleanor over the last 9 years.
