Marchand, Joseph Nectaire - 71, Arichat, formerly of Port Royal passed away December 17, 2016 at his residence at St Anne Community and Nursing Care Centre in Arichat. Born in Petit de Grat, he was the son of the late Harry Thomas.and Mary Justine (Samson) Marchand. Nectaire is survived by his daughters, Julie, Port Hawkesbury, Sue, Halifax; son, John (Jessica) Port Royal; grandchildren, Jillian, Kate and Gage; brother, Thomas (Edna), Samson's Cove; sister, Marie-Louise Samson, Ontario. He was predeceased by his wife the former Marie Shirley Theresa (Rogers) Marchand; brother Danny and sister, Theresa Anne. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral Mass will be held Friday afternoon, December 23th at 2 pm in Our Lady of Assumption Church in Arichat with Father Doug MacDonald officiating. Burial to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, West Arichat. A reception will be held at the Acadiaville Hall in West Arichat following the committal.
