Venedam (Jeffrey) Mary Kathleen “Kay”, Antigonish/Louisdale
It is with great sadness that the family has to announce the passing of Kay Venedam, 80 of Antigonish, formerly of Louisdale that occurred at her residence in Antigonish on January 22, 2017. Born February 1, 1936 in Louisdale, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Charles and Eva (Samson) Jeffrey. Kay is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Venedam (Valerie Reiger), Connie Venedam-Marchand (Richard), both of Antigonish; son, Francis (Wendy Billard), Kempt Rd; four grandchildren, Lisa, Jeremy, Janelle, Gilles; great-grandchildren, Aidan, Camyrn, Reagan and Landon; brother, Albert Jeffrey (Emeline), Louisdale. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Arthur Venedam; brothers, Willard, Arthur, Joseph, Norman, Leo and Alfred; sisters, Margaret, Beatrice, May, Rita and Josephine. Kay was a former Girl Guide Leader in Louisdale for many years, and was active in the Louisdale Community. She loved gardening, fishing, boating and was an avid sewer and made many handmade quilts, a legacy she left for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed camping and attended many Bluegrass music festivals in the past and had her camper trailer parked at Pringle Lake where at the age of 78, went kayaking for the first time and paddled the entire lake. She loved listening to music, feeding the birds and watching them through her window. Most of all she loved animals especially her “Grand” cat Duncan and “Grand” puppy Lacey. Kay also loved to cook, but her favorite thing was eating. She was loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Visitation will be held on Friday January 27th from 2-4 &7- 9 pm and on Saturday morning January 28th from 9-10:30am. in the Glen Sampson Memorial Room in Louisdale. Funeral Mass will take place Saturday morning at 11 am in St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisdale with Father Antolin Asur, officiating. Burial to follow in the St. Louis Parish Cemetery Fund, Louisdale. Donations in her honour may be made to St Louis Parish Cemetery Fund. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C. H.
